Somewhere between plates, paths and pillowcases

Guide

Fine Dining & Dirty Boots is built around one simple idea: every great trip deserves both good food and a little adventure.

To make our reviews easier to understand, we’ve created our own rating system. Here’s what all those terms mean.

Difficulty of the Trail

Flip-flopsEasy terrain with well-maintained paths. No special gear needed. You’ll probably leave with clean shoes.
SneakersMostly easy walking with a few uneven sections. Trainers work just fine, but walking shoes will make the trip more comfortable.
Hiking BootsLonger distances, rocky sections or noticeable elevation. Bring hiking boots, water bottle and expect to earn your dinner.
Adventure ModeChallenging terrain with steep climbs, rough paths or long distances. Proper hiking gear, plenty of water, snacks and a reasonable level of fitness are strongly recommended.
Beast ModeThis is a proper adventure rather than a casual walk. Expect demanding terrain, changing conditions and sore legs tomorrow.

Fine Factor of the Restaurant

Come as you areNo one will pay attention to what you’re wearing. Jeans, hiking trousers or shorts are all perfectly fine. (Just don’t forget the clothes.)
Jeans Approved
A nice pair of jeans and a clean T-shirt, jumper or blouse will fit right in. Relaxed atmosphere, outstanding food.
Blazer RecommendedYou’ll still be welcome in jeans, but many guests choose to dress up just a little. A blazer or a nice dress won’t feel out of place.
Dress to Match the MenuDining here is an occasion in itself. Smart attire complements the experience, even if there’s no formal dress code.
Go All Out
If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to wear your favourite suit or cocktail dress, this is it.

Pillow factory of the Hotels

Sweet DreamsA comfortable and enjoyable place to spend the night. You’ll sleep well, leave happy and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
One More MinuteDon’t rush off just yet. There’s something about the atmosphere, breakfast, surroundings or little details that makes you want to stay a little longer.
Cloud NineThe stay is an experience in itself. This is the kind of place you might happily plan a trip around.

Other terms

🥾 DIRTY BOOTS | Outdoor adventures of all kinds.
From city walks to demanding hiking trails, usually with forests, lakes or the Finnish wilderness somewhere along the way

PLATES | Restaurants ranging from your first step into fine dining to unforgettable Michelin-starred experiences. Whether it’s a relaxed bistro or a once-in-a-lifetime tasting menu, if the food is worth travelling for, you’ll find it here.

PATHS | Nature trails, lakeside or city walks and outdoor adventures. No tents required. You’ll be back in a real bed before the day is over.

BEYOND | Museums, attractions and everything in between. Scenic viewpoints, exhibitions, historic sites or those places that don’t quite fit into Plates, Paths or Pillows but are still worth the stop.

SIDE QUEST | The unexpected stop that turns a good day into a memorable one. It might be a tiny museum, a scenic viewpoint, a local café or a hidden wine bar just around the corner. Every trip deserves at least one Side Quest.

SOMETHING WE’LL REMEMBER | Sometimes it’s a dish. Sometimes it’s a landscape. Sometimes it’s something so small that most people would walk straight past it. This is the moment that made the visit unforgettable.
