August 2026 | A shopping day in Helsinki turned into an unexpected culinary experience. During a casual stroll around Helsinki city centre, we decided to swap our planned movie for a menu. In hindsight, it was an excellent trade.

Our destination was Yes Yes Yes, a colourful vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Helsinki.

Yes Yes Yes is the kind of restaurant where you may get lucky and find a table without a reservation, especially if your timing is flexible. But if it is high on your Helsinki dining list, booking ahead is a good idea. The restaurant can get surprisingly busy, particularly around holidays and local celebrations. On our previous visit, for example, the dining room was buzzing with recent graduates celebrating with their families.

If you love vegetarian food, or are simply curious to see how satisfying a meal without meat can be, this is a place worth trying. This was our second visit to Yes Yes Yes, and both times we have left with new ideas for our own cooking at home. That is usually a pretty good sign.

The Dining Experience

Even though it was already around 20:00, which counts as a fairly late dinner in Finland as we normally eat around 17:00–19:00, we decided to go all in with the full tasting menu and paired drinks: alcoholic and non-alcoholic ones.

There was plenty to eat, but the food still left us feeling fresh rather than overly full. The wine pairing was excellent, but so were the restaurant’s “nude” beverages, as they call their non-alcoholic drinks.

Something We Will Remember

Non-alcoholic drinks have come a long way over the past decade or so, but it is still relatively rare to find a restaurant where the non-alcoholic pairing can genuinely compete with the wines. But Yes Yes Yes managed to do exactly that.

The wine and nude beverage pairings each brought something different out of the food, which also made comparing them part of the fun. With the first dish, halloumi, I would even say the nude beverage won the round.

If you are looking for a vegetarian tasting menu in Helsinki but do not drink alcohol, you certainly do not have to settle for the second-best pairing here.

Good to Know

  • Vegetarian restaurant with vegan options available
  • Excellent opening hours: open seven days a week
  • Location in Helsinki city centre
  • Particularly impressive non-alcoholic drink pairing
  • Staff speak English, so if you only speak Finnish… well, you probably won’t be reading this anyway 😉

Side Quest

Yes Yes Yes is right in the middle of one of Helsinki’s best areas for eating and drinking, with plenty of hotels, shopping centres and wine bars within walking distance.

That makes it particularly easy to include in a day exploring central Helsinki. Go shopping, have a drink, see a movie… or, as we did, skip the movie and order the tasting menu instead.
